This was a break through map for me it was the first thing I completely build in Maya something I have insisted on doing pretty much ever since. At that point in time it was really common for maps to be build with csg-brushes in one from or another plus 3D models for minor details only. But really 3D application are far superior over csg-editors in every way possible and this is the map that opened my eyes. The map itself is rather small but has many Easter-Eggs like the frozen "Oscar" cyborg-yeti in the cave, a quad damage that comes out of a hatched dinosaur egg, a waterfall that defies the laws pf physics and will push you up into the air to a secret mega health item rather than dragging you down the stream etc... Epics CliffyB used to run a website where he would give his personal approval to maps that he thought "owned" frozen got this one of these rate "CliffyB Ownage"-awards. The activity of that page phased out rapidly soon after. I remember talking to some other unreal players in an IRC channel and i mentioned that I created frozen and one guy remarked that its a nice map but nothing special really drunk with power I pointed out that it got a "CliffyB Ownage" award and must there for be awesome turns out the guy who made the remark was Paul "Tonnberry" Fahss who had plenty of those awards and would get his maps featured in many official epic endorsed bonus packs and even 2 official maps in UT2K4 ... that back-lashed fast ... karma is a bitch I guess ^^
